Dr. Nasir being awarded the ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD FOR HIGHEST GRADUATE GPA in the Master of Public Health degree at Cal State University, Fullteron (CSUF)
Dr. Nasir, Medical Programs Director, at South Coast College, recently received the Academic Excellence Award at Cal State Fullerton for the highest grade point average in the program. Dr. Nasir is a medical doctor and a licensed sonographer and holds a number of other certifications. He chose to study in the field of public health because he was interested in doing research. He is currently engaged in a research project at Cal State Fullerton studying fibromyalgia.
The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree combines the study of the biological, physical, psychological, economic, and social forces affecting the human condition. The degree’s curriculum seeks to analyze not only the nature and context of public health problems, but also the organizational, behavioral, socio-cultural, and political constraints to ameliorating these problems. Through experiences in and out of the classroom, students develop the habit of intellectual inquiry, prepare for challenging professions, strengthen relationships to their communities and contribute productively to society.
We are so proud of Dr. Nasir for his interest in furthering his professional development through his research.
