B.A. in Pyschology and B.S. in Biological Science

Friday, August 28th, 2009

What does one do with a B.A. in Pyschology and a B.S. in Biological Science?  Leanne Compton is applying her knowledge to the field of court reporting.  Court reporters must take a number of medical courses because court reporters are involved in reporting many medical-related law cases.  Leanne Compton was able to transfer her medical courses to reduce the number of academic courses that she needs to take.

Court Reporting Students Bring Diversified Backgrounds

Friday, August 28th, 2009

The court reporting students of South Coast College often bring to court reporting wonderful diverse backgrounds that will help them in the future.  Anything that one learns can be applied when in the field of court reporting.  Just an example of the backgrounds of recently enrolled students.  Deb Holm attended Cal State, Long Beach, and is a graphics designer.  Kitri Lint graduated from UC Santa Barbara, was a police officer, then a teacher.  Michelle Knapp graduated from FIDM in fashion merchandising.  Her sister is a Deputy District Attorney.  Annie Lamer graduated in fashion design from Brooks College in Long Beach.

Medical Assistant Hired at SOUTH COAST COLLEGE

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Medical Assistant graduate, Jonathan Knight, was hired as a Lab Assistant in the Medical Department of South Coast College.  Jonathan recently graduated from South Coast College with special honors.  He helped the Medical Director, Ramy Seang, all summer.  The decision to hire Jonathan result from two factors — the growth of the program warranted a laboratory assistant and the fact that Jonathan is an asset to any employer.  He is conscientious, professional, and caring.  Jonathan will also be going into the nursing program in September.
