South Coast College in Orange was the test site for the May NCRA examinations.  Kamryn Valadez, CSR, who just passed the CSR and her twin sister, Whitney Valadez, CSR, an official court reporter in Los Angeles Superior Court were there taking the RPR examination together.  Kathleen George, CSR, RPR, another official reporter who is an alumna was taking the CRR.  Among other alumni present were Jodi Monroe, CSR, and Carlos Hicho, CSR.

South Coast College in Orange was the test site for a number of the NCRAs tests, such as the RPR, RMR, and CRR.  Court reporters drove from as far as Las Vegas, Nevada to take the test.  One examinee from Las Vegas said that her group had taken tests at South Coast College before and wanted to return to the college because they found a test site they liked.  President Gonzalez said that she enjoyed being the Chief Examiner because it gave her the opportunity to see alumni.   Many of the South Coast College alumni were taking the RPR and other exams. 

A number of South Coast College students are using their steno skills by providing CART services (steno-interpreting) for the hearing-impaired in several of the colleges in the area.  Dustin Huffer is at Chapman University.  Veronica Parker, a recent graduate in steno-interpreting, is at Cal State Dominguez Hills.  Marcia Mc Entee is at the University of California at Irvine.

Court Reporting.  Thanks to alumnus of South Coast College in Orange, Steve Pay, CSR, RPR, uncle of Paul Pay for keeping us informed of openings in the Orange County Courts.

Court Reporting Program.  Kim Chou is an evening student in the court reporting program at South Coast College in Orange.  She recently donated her beautiful long black hair to Wigs for Kids.  We are so proud of your concern for others!

Marlene Duron, CSR, who recently passed the March 2008 CSR completed the 240 wpm skills test.  She graduated with 260 wpm as her goal.

Court Reporting.  Three Court Reporters Board representatives visited South Coast College on May 6, 2008. 

Katherine Netessova, CSR, passed the May 2008 CSR examination.  Katherine is only the third student from a foreign country to pass the CSR from South Coast College.  Katherine is from Russia.  It is quite an accomplishment.  Congratulations!

Adra Pittman, CSR, from South Coast College, undoubtedly set a new record at the March 2008 examination.  She definitely set a record for South Coast College students.  She had only 2 errors on the examination.  A candidate can pass with 50 errors.
